Evan Green, 2nd grader, and Andrew Mata, 3rd grader, each drew a leaf design using the 3 kinds of lines - straight, curvy, and zigzag. 

Lines 2015

This week my students are learning all about lines in art - straight, curvy, and zigzag. They are also learning about the directions all lines can travel - vertical, horizontal, and diagonal. Here is just a sampling of the activities the kids are participating in this week:  line leaves, leaf drawings, paper line collages, line contrast collages, cutting edge portaits, line initials, and comic book lines.

  

Students at Ice House Show

The students whose art was exhibited at the Ice House for the annual district-wide show received special pins today from the KY Arts Council. They proudly display them on their shirts.

Conservation Art Contest Winners - 2015

This year's conservation art contest winners for Central are Cole, Katya, and Ellie.  Congrats, Artists!!

Masterpieces of the Month for March 2015

This month's Masterpieces of the Month are 1st grader Audrey Griggs, who created a piece based on the art of Keith Haring and 6th grader Jason Griggs, who created an artwork showing both positive and negative space.  Congratulations Audrey and Jason!!

Masterpieces of the Month - Feb. 2015

Raul Mata is in 6th grade and completed a gorgeous oil pastel of an Asian panda.
Raygon Mathis is in kindergarten and did a wonderful African animal collage.  Congrats, boys!!!
