Color Schemes for the Week!

This week, students are learning about 5 color schemes: primary (red, blue, yellow); secondary (purple, green, orange); warm (yellow, red, orange); cool (blue, green, purple); and neutral (black, white, brown, gray).  Here they are creating artworks using a chosen color scheme:

Shapes Shapes and More Shapes

This week every student is creating an artwork using shapes, including gecko designs based on the Oaxahan art of woodcarving and creating a 1-point perspective room drawing.

Masterpieces of the Month for August 2017

This month we have two super duper artworks - a line collage and a leafy line drawing.
Myah is a 2nd grader, and Maxton is a first grader. 

  

Students first full week of art - August 2017

This week we are learning all about lines - straight, curvy, and zigzag - and the 3 line directions - vertical, horizontal, and diagonal. Here are the students playing Rally Robin, learning the Alaska Hurray cheer, and sharing some of their wonderful "line" artworks.
