Students and Their Families Enjoy the Juried Exhibit at the Art Guild/Ice House Museum!!

 This Sunday, Dec. 9th, students from Central and their families attended the student exhibit on display at the local Art Guild, located within the Ice House Museum.  This photo shows 2nd place winner Julie Bryson and her family. Way to go, Julie!! Makayla Marler (shown with her mom) won 1st place!  Congrats, Makayla!!  
 Taylor Cope is all smiles at showing his mom and dad his artwork. 
 Alena Gonzalez also tied for 1st place!!  You're awesome, Alena!!

Memory Cylinders

 Kyler is using zigzag lines in creating his Memory Cylinder.
 Connor enjoys basketball, so his 3D cylinder reflected his favorite pasttime.

Responding to Drama

  This week we are beginning our unit on Early America, the Colonial Period.  We began our unit with drama, reading plays from this time period of our nation's history.  Here, students are responding to the plays we read by pretending to be props managers and designing stage props for each play.

6th Grade Latin America unit

 In 6th grade we study Latin America.  Here, a student is completing an organic shape "Bark" Painting...a traditional style of painting done in Latin American countries.

Native American Art - Oh, My!!!

 This week, 3rd grade enjoyed creating "medicine man" sand art for our Native American unit.  It was especially interesting for them to choose their Native symbol.
